Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 3.62%
Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.62% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which rose 9.99% or 7.20 points to trade at 79.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) added 4.45% or 4.05 points to end at 95.00 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was up 3.58% or 0.78 points to 22.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL), which fell 8.65% or 3.20 points to trade at 33.80 at the close. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 8.33% or 4.80 points to end at 52.85 and Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) was down 7.41% or 4.10 points to 51.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 511 to 58 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.41% or 4.10 to 51.20.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.73% or 19.75 to $2,670.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.80% or 0.56 to hit $70.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.52 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.10% to 37.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 101.36.
